Services

What aviation medical exams do you offer?
At NH FLIGHT MD, we offer FAA Class I, FAA Class II, and Class III pilot medical exams.

What's the difference between FAA Class, I, FAA Class II, and Class III pilot medical exams?
FAA medical certificates come in three classes based on the type of flying: First-Class is the most rigorous and required for airline transport pilots; Second-Class is for commercial pilots not in ATP roles; and Third-Class is for private pilots and others flying non-commercially. First-Class exams are the most comprehensive, with stricter standards and shorter validity periods, while Second- and Third-Class exams are progressively less demanding. The higher the class, the more frequent and thorough the medical evaluation, reflecting the level of operational responsibility.

Do you offer other services?
Yes! We offer Medical Certification Consultations which are an opportunity to discuss your medical history, address and questions or concerns, and receive expert guidance before your official FAA exam.

How long does an exam take?
Exams typically take between 30-60 minutes.

How do I book a Class I, Class II, or Class III pilot medical exam with you?
You can learn more about the booking process on our Getting Started page.

How far in advance should I book my exam?

My availability starts about two months out. You may schedule as far out as needed to fit your schedule.

What if I have health concerns or new medical problems?

We'll discuss them and I'll provide guidance as needed.

Do I need to live in New Hampshire to make an appointment with you?
No! We serve pilots from all over. You don’t need to be a New Hampshire resident to schedule a FAA Class I, Class II, or Class III exam with us. We frequently serve pilots from Maine, Massachusetts, and Vermont, and occasionally pilots who are visiting the area.

Preparing For Your Appointment

Is there anything special I need to do to prepare for my appointment?

No, but we do recommend being well-rested and hydrated.

What time should I arrive for my appointment?

Please arrive between 5-10 minutes in advance of your scheduled appointment time.

What should I wear?

Please wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access for the physical examination. For example, a button-down or loose-fitting shirt is recommended for procedures such as the lung exam.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?
Please bring the following to your appointment:

  • Completed MedXPress application.

  • Relevant medical documentation: If you have a medical condition that could impact your certification (e.g., diabetes, heart conditions, or prior surgeries), bring documentation from your healthcare providers.

  • Government-issued photo ID: Ensure it’s valid and matches the name on your MedXPress application.

  • Corrective lenses or hearing aids (if applicable): Bring any assistive devices needed for vision or hearing testing.

  • Medications list: Write down all medications you currently take, including dosages and reasons for use.

  • Payment: If you book online or through another method, you may pay at our office with cash, credit card, or check on the day of your appointment.

This is my first exam. Is there anything different about this appointment?

Yes, first-time applicants have a couple of additional requirements. You'll need to complete an Electronic Color Vision Test to assess distance and near vision, color vision, and peripheral vision, meeting 20/20 standards with or without correction. This test carries an additional $60 fee. If you're over 35, you'll also need a baseline Cardiovascular Assessment, including an EKG to evaluate heart health. This exam is $80 and becomes an annual requirement once you're over 40.

What if I’m late for my appointment?

We will make every effort to accommodate late arrivals if time allows. However, please be aware that you may need to wait until there is an available opportunity to fit you into the schedule, or you may need to reschedule your appointment.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

Please reschedule or cancel no later than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment
